My Hero Grove with New Boyz

My Hero and the New Boyz at the Grove:

Saturday night was simply awesome.  Our first big concert event since Wango Tango.  Playing in front a big crowd on a huge stage was great practice for what we are about to see on our college tour.  Definitely something we can't wait to do on a regular basis. Here are some pics from the night!

Outside of all our awesome fans that came out we also had some record label reps come down as well.  We got nothing but positive feedback from them and will keep you posted on how this developes from here.

My Hero KIIS FM

My Hero KIIS FMMy Hero's "Epic" is on radio commercials on KIIS FM all week!

The commercials for our show this Saturday's with New Boyz hit the air last Friday and run all week long.  We are getting so many texts and calls from friends that have heard it already.  If you haven't had a chance to hear it on the radio yet, check it out here:

My Hero KTLA

My Hero KTLA

Let's just start from the beginning;

My Hero Skinnie Magazine

The group all woke up at 2:30 am to get on the road to head up to KTLA studios in Hollywood.

Early wake-up, but it was definitely worth it, as we soon found out.  Amara from Skinnie Magazine came along with us to write a story about the day and "Roommate Chris" came to take pictures.  We arrived on the KTLA lot at 5am excited and ready for what lied ahead.

Walking onto the live set was completely surreal with all the lights, cameras, stages, crew and news reporters in the room.

 My Hero KTLA

After soundcheck everyone in the room was already getting excited to see us perform.  Backstage we all came together, practiced one last time, gave each other huge hugs and then it was time to rock.

We performed 2 songs "Radio" and "Rock Cities" and the judges absolutely loved what they saw.  One judge was quoted as saying "I hosted at the AMA's this year and I can totally see this group at the AMA's and walking away with some.  You guys have Star potential."  Well just check out the video and see for yourself!

After the performances we were approached by the executive producer of the KTLA morning show.  He offered us the opportunity to come back to perform anytime we have something that we want to promote.  We were also approached by a producer of a Nationally syndicated show as well, and given the same opportunity from him.  Hmmm... thinking My Hero may have an avenue to release our single all on our own next month.

Ron Artest: Our most famous fan so far

We got the chance to meet Ron Artest of the Los Angeles Lakers in the KTLA parking lot.  Knowing that Ron has his own label, we had no choice but to give him our card and cd.  We shook hands and he got in his car and took off.  15 minutes later we got a text message from Ron Artest himself inviting us to play at his party this coming Friday.  Now that is an exciting offer that we just could not pass up.

From My Hero, A Special THANKS to everyone who made this possible!!!

My Hero Chapman Uninersity

Yesterday's show at Cal State Fullerton was so much fun.  A couple hundred students came out in between classes to see us play an outdoor show in the middle of campus.

The school printed up posters, so after the show we got to do some autograph signing.  It is so cool to have the chance to hang out with fans after the shows.  My Hero Chapman Uninersity

Tomorrow we play live on KTLA channel 5 at 8:45am and again at 9:30am.  We are definitely excited, nervous, happy and thankful about this huge opportunity.  Be sure to tune in and cheer us on from home.  Check out the video below where they let everyone know to tune in to see us tomorrow.  It is so surreal to hear our name said on television.

Skinnie Magazine is sending one of their reporters with us tomorrow to write a story about our entire experience from the time we wake up til we get back home from KTLA.  Like I said before, this is all getting really surreal, really fast.  Oh yeah, "Roommate Chris" (who we all live with) is coming along to take professional pictures to be put in the magazine as well.  This is so dope.

My Hero

Tonight My Hero and I went to the Shark Club in Costa Mesa for the Busta Rhymes performance.

The club was super generous and gave us bottle service at the table next to Busta Rhymes for free.  Busta came in quick, ran up on stage, performed his ass off and then had to bounce.  It was quick, but we took full advantage of the time we had with him and his people.  We got both, his manager and his main producer's contact information and we gave them both the My Hero demo cd for their listening pleasure.  We will be talking to both of them sometime soon for sure.

How is My Hero doing today?

Well I would say we are doing pretty fantastic.  Last night I was at the House of Blues in Hollywood for the Timbaland show.  After the show I saw Will I Am and Ray J walking into an area I was pretty sure I shouldn't be in, so of course I followed them.  Next thing I know I am standing in a hallway with a whole lot of recognizable faces.  I took full advantage of the opportunity and talked to Justin Timberlake, the VP of Live Nation, Doug E Fresh and Will I Am.  Justin Timberlake and the VP of Live Nation both were more than happy to take the 2 My Hero cds that I had off of my hands.  Will I Am, who definitely knows that My Hero is on the Black Eyed Peas tail, and Doug E Fresh both took my card and seemed interested in finding out about the group. Definitely a successful night.

As for what else we have going on; well we just finished completing the first 3 songs for our next album.  The songs, one of which will be released as a single in February, are taking a tour around the music industry.  To date, the president and vice president of EMI publishing, several label executives, and numerous celebrities including Wilmer Valderama and hopefully Justin Timberlake, have all listened to and loved all 3 songs.  The feedback we are getting everyday is absolutely crazy.

Stay tuned, I will be posting regular updates when more major stuff comes our way.  Tonight we are all going to the Busta Rhymes show at the Shark Club in Costa Mesa.  Can't wait to see what happens...
