The weirdest thing,

I woke up at 2 am this morning, (Plug fav song by Michael Brian) and I was like hell NO! Its now 3 AM im out the shower and ready and I realize.. this is it! I remember listening to artist on the radio bright and early in the morning thinking ,, man I cant wait till I have to do that.. I just got his crazy power serge knowing, My Hero is doing it!,, like for real but instead of interview on the radio, were playing LIVE on TV!!! AAAAAAAaaaaah ... Im totally facebooking with people who are prolly still up from last night! Hahaha .. Sooo many people text and dropped messages and Status Updates of love and luck for us yesterday and to you.... THANK YOU! you guys make me feel sooooo special! I will update again today when we are done and post the behind the scenes footage too. A reporter from Skinnie Mag is riding up there with us too and writing an article about it in the March issue! (Poor Soul) hahaha Ok, Now to pack my guitar and Blow this Joint! LOVE YOU GUYS!

First time LIVE on TV! YEAY!

So as you probably already know, My Hero entered KTLA (La’s Channel 5) Battle of the bands competition. Well … THANKS TO ALL YOUR VOTES, we are one the top 5 finalists! So this means we will be LIVE on TV this Friday! If you’re local to LA/OC, tune in to Channel 5 on Friday morning to see us Rock for millions of people! I’m sooo stoked!

 People have been asking if I’m nervous and the honest answer is.. Not at all! =) HA!  I just hope the cameras can keep up with us! Were gonna play 2 songs. 1st Radio, then Rock Cities! They actually have us setting up while they are broadcasting live so its gonna be an experience for sure!  There are record labels asking what time they should tune in and everything soooo I’m crazy amped about what could come from this!  As for what else is going on, well I think a lot is covered it in the My Hero BLOG, but as for me personally, im just stoked to see everything heading our way so fast!

 I did want to take time to give BIG PROPS to a friend of mine who stars in and has launched his show “Blue Mountain State” on Spike TV. This kid is an amazing person!  I met Darin a while back when he was working on Days of Our Lives and he has been so humble and supportive to everything we have been doing, not to mention an inspiration as well. Cool kids like D are hard to come by in LA by far! Check out his show if you haven’t already, tell your friends to DVR that SHIT and get ready to laugh!

This week is going to be full of rehearsals and a show at Cal State Fullerton so I’m gonna be busy as F, but il stay up on Facebook like always posting ish from the adventure! Iv also been trying to get the hang of motion graphics on Adobe After Effects! I know NERD ALERT! Ok, il start out by saying walking into Starbucks asking for tea and when asked if you like one bag or 2 saying make it a double bagger will always get you a uncomfortable look from the girl behind the counter =)

Sooo stoked on our manager Shawn right now.. Cant thank him enough for all the hard work and dedication he puts into My Hero!  Just last week he handed our newest unheard music to Justin Timberlake, Will I Am of the Black Eyed Peas who by the way looked at the pic on the CD and said "Hey this is Non-P" hhahaah whoa talk about flattering! Shawn let him know we partly changed the name because of the Black Eyed Pease and peeps were associating the name with "Not the Black Eyed Peas" an in some cases thought we were even a cover band of Black Eyed Peas! WTF Ahhaa no boyno.. Will I Am just responded with "No Shit?" hahaah Doug E fresh and Busta Rhymes can be added to the have our new songs List too! Amazing work Shawn!!

We worked our new hit song "Epic" with an AMAZING producer named Griffin in LA and it is just insain!! I can't wait for you to hear it!! Shawn ran into a friend of ours "Profit" (Sp) and Julie Pilat Music Director of KIIS FM at an Industry Event and he (Profit) had already heard the song cuz Griffin is pumped on it and played it for him! that means TONS! He said the track is bangen and Julie was like really!?!?! I wanna hear!! Not bad since she can get us radio play on KIIS =) yeay!! Il letcha know how that goes for sure!!

So were going to be touring like mad soon!!! We updated the shows on the site.. Check it out!! Japan Brazil!! YEAY!!! If you haven't seen already we have a new site, www.MyHeroLive.com and it looks Rad!! I know I know arrogant cuz i made it buuut.. Its the group that makes it so rad so calm down!!! Ahhaa i cant stop playing our 3 new songs over and over. They are our best work yet, and thats coming from EVERYONE who hears them! Our friend Scott sent then to EMI and they are ready to set us up on a licensing deal too!!!! THAT'S HUGE!! mos def not jut a local band anymore =) Thanks Scott!!!!! They started off by saying wow these guys arent signed! and that they loved our song "Rock with You" but said we had to change it ASAP. Too much Michael Jackson influence and we were gonna get sued! Haha oooops! so we re-recorded it and it's set to go!!! It's called "Rock Cities" now.

Even with this all going on IM most excited about my Mommy coming to town with my Bro and Nephew!! Can't say I want to do the Disneyland thing with them buut well see =)!! Anytime I get to see them outside of Christmas and Thanks Giving is a blessing!!!! wish my Grandma could have made it too! PS I'm all hooked up on Skype now! "Kyswebcam" is my screen name. MY GRANDMA IS ON SKYPE so get with it peeps! Video chat is where it's at!  Hahaha Anyways sorry for not updating that much in the past week, (hence the long SPAZZED out random blog) we've been in the studio and at events so IM trying to catch you up as much as possible.. Our manager is also updating the group blog now too so stay tuned for a real outsider/insider view on the group on the My Hero Blog page.. I hope everyone is doing well!! Ditch the zero and get with the HERO~!

My Hero! I LOVE it! I know its prolly a lot for peeps to get with right away but.. Cmon!!.. you got with Non-P prolly not knowing it was short for “Nonpareilyx” (or how to spell it) or that “Nonpareil” was a French derivative meaning “no equal” or “matchless” or “Lyx” being slang for “Lyrics”.. hahah ok ok you get it.. Im pumped to be My Hero.. It is such a positive confident fun name.. Taylr  came up with it so I text her today asking what it meant to her.. I knew I made up my own meaning but I wanted to know her thought behind it.. she text me

Last Saturday was something really special.. We took the party bus up to LA with our closest friends to rock a show and just get out of OC.. Record Labels showed up to scout us too. Said they were blown away.. Everyone was just on a La High! That bus sure did look like we hotel room rock stared it when we got back to OC though! Hahahah Well im off to the studio. Today’s the last day of the week for us and We need to finish a song by midnight to be on the 3 song a week schedule.. I think Taylr is doing some Spanish rapping on a track tonight??.. ~This Train is Moving~

So excited to write today because yet again we all met about the name and what the group will be doing for the next 3 months as well.. We have all agreed we will release our New Record around May 15th and our first new Single off the record in March!  Why is this exciting to me?? Well, this is the first full length CD with Taylr aaand were gonna record 40 songs a pick the top 12 for you. Yes 40 SONGS! We have all pledged to write 3 songs a week and bring the best record we have ever released. Just this week I have heard an amazing new beat by Tai, finished writing my part to an impressing track the crew put together while I was on Christmas Vacay and I just got a call showing me a skeleton idea for a song called “Super Cali Egotistic Yes we are the Dopest!” It sounds Amazing! I feel like the group is just pushing forward so fast, Iv never been so focused and so proud.. Seriously I have to say, I am sooo blessed to make music with my best friends I doubt any band is truly a crew of true super friends like us! OH and did I mention (knowing I didn’t) I THINK WE HAVE DECIDED ON A NAME! At the start of the meeting Taylr and Tai were like we like this name.. I was like.. umm,,, Me too.. ut oh,, CC whatcha think.. he was like … yeah..  HAHA though that moment would never come.. We all decided to sleep on it and see how we fell about it tomorrow.. What’s funny is the people who Shawn (My Manager)  told the name to  were like… r u serious..Ummm are you guys set on that name???.. Paaa-ShaW!!  Bring it on HATERS.. I think we may shock a lot of people with the new image sound and name but.. That’s what entertainments all about right!?!?! We already have marketing ideas for it too.. Il letcha know how tomorrow unfolds. *Crossing fingures*

~Just another magic Monday~

So today I woke up at 7am, suuuuper early for me.. I was awake long enough to take this pic and get back to bed..

I Wrote my verse for a song called "Till I was Somebody".. It's basically a song about how people latch on once they figure out our group is going places but these peeps weren't any ware to be found when we needed their support..hahaha The song is super catchy and I can't wait for you to hear it..

I just got back from the "Monday night meeting". Every Monday we meet to go over business and what needs to get done for the week.. But this weeks meeting was all about The Name Change.. We all pitched in 10 words each that describe our image and tried to sew up a name from there. About 3.5 hours later........ we still don't have a name.. It's like you offer a name and it's sound ok some peeps like it some don't and it's like a session of rejection, laughs and debate.. It's sooo not easy to choose a name.. We pulled up our myspace and with one look you can
tell we don't really have an image to offer. Yes our pics look hot, the design is solid, but without hearing our music you cant really tell what were about. Investors have told us they really need a marketable image to sell so were all about fixing that asap through new photoshoots, clothing. and NAME change.. Ugh.. It's soo tuff, some of us like the word "Cali" some don't , some like "social" and some don't..We toyed with the names "my favorite group" (Who is this? - My Favorite group!) hahaha and "fresh social" but decided to sleep on it and keep looking.. Good night everyone, heres to having a dream where i come up with the name, waking up and moving past this madness! =)
